JOHN KARANIAN: My practice involves family law and all matters related to family law. That includes divorce, whether it be a simple uncontested divorce or a complex divorce situation involving spousal support, child support, child custody and visitation, as well as any criminal matters that may be related to family law.
I got into family law because to me it's challenging, it's complex and it's personally rewarding. I'm also a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Virginia. As a clinical psychologist, I understand the emotions that are involved in these types of cases and that helps me to more effectively work with clients.
The approach I take with every case is goal-oriented and solution-focused. Establishing what the goals are, establishing the plan to reach those goals and then implementing those methods to achieve the goals.
My top priorities with my clients are listening to what they have to say, communicating to them about the status of the case and being honest with them.
